Grey, grey, grey...

And still that damn cold refuses to go away. Did plan to clean the house and play some guitar this weekend but it was just much of nothing. Didn't have any energy what so ever...

I really hope next weekend will be better. I was looking forward to just be home, ok that was last weekend and now, relax and perhaps see Freak Kitchen and BigElf but that didn't happen.

Hopefully it will be ok for next weekend and I can do the cleaning and playing that didn't happen now...

Cheers

So, there still is some info missing for a few releases. Should be updated... It might seem a bit crazy to collect the same record over and over again just because it's a different print. But it becomes a bit toxic after a while and it's such a joy when something new shows up. (spending Friday & Saturday evenings listening to music, drinking beer and browsing eBay & Discogs has helped a lot but it tends to be rather expensive the later it gets) But I'm in good company, check out Peter's Anvil Collection
Next should be Savatage but that sure will take a lot of time...

Or, I need to find another way to keep it updated since the collection has gotten some additions since I took all photos...
Should of course have waited to publish until I had all info but, well, it's not all that serious. Or, actually, the initial plan was to dig up all shirts and other stuff too but that will have to be a future project!!!

So, this is it for now!

Cheers

Mad max theory

Or... The cold-ravings of me!

Nope, the cold hasn't given up on me yet. It was probably a bad decision to go back to work yesterday but the workshop was interesting and it would have been difficult to catch up later. Didn't feel too good yesterday evening or this morning.

But now I've bunked up on junkfood and cookies and loaded Big Bang Theory in the DVD... Not gonna more much more today, that's for sure!

Cheers (in coughcyrup this time...)

Your money's worth...

I guess I'm not very surprised that a cold snuck up on me when the suite of concerts, events and work started to come to an end. But it sure is a bad cold,  a man-cold even because I've been in bed most of today feeling sorry for myself. So glad nothing is planned for this weekend.

But, even if it has been rough weeks it's been fun also. A lot of great concerts and a lot of fun. I think Trouble was the best but the competition was very hard, that's for sure. All bands I've seen since early October has been very good and that includes Old Grave Fest and Malta Doom Metal Festival and Dutch Doom Days.

Still it's worth pointing out that Saxon did one hell of a set again. It sure is impressive that they can deliver a 2 hour set every night and still keep up the energy! Amazing really!

I guess it's time to go back to feel sorry for myself now. Eat some icecream and watch a bad movie or so... Was long since I watched Little Britain, maybe it's time for that tonight, or 'Allo 'Allo... Nothing deeper atleast.

Cheers

Longing for the Sun

It's not that long since we was in Malta for the Malta Doom Festival but I'm sick and tired of rain and darkness already. It sure gave a lot of energy being there even if the days didn't feature much resting or relaxing. Just the sun do a lot and having fun the rest. And that we sure had!
Getting home the temperature was crawling down to around 0, even had to clear the ice from the car windows on a few mornings. *brrr*

But yes, this years edition of Malta Doom Metal Festival was fantastic. One of the best ever, with a lot of great performances and cool people. The team behind the Festival has been thanking everyone that showed up on Facebook and so but they are the ones that really should have a lot of kudos for the effort put in and the dedication to music. The atmosphere at the festival is fantastic, we always feel very welcome and it's always a big party. And with such a good line-up as it always has, I can't understand how a doom-fan can skip it.

My absolute favorites this year was Forsaken, Manilla Road, Desolation Angels and Reino Ermitano. Not that any band did a bad gig...
Bandpictures will be published in the report i hopefully will find time to write soon. Should have been some good ones at least but I think I need to buy a small flash for my new camera that can help out a bit when the lights are low.

Dark at Dawn

Even if it should be a lot colder outside than it is, I still think it's too cold now. I do like dark night at the end of summer, when it's just so comfortable to be outside you can stay out forever. The darkness now is just depressing.

But, we had a very cool and fun weekend which started early with Trouble at Loppen. Very good show but it could have been more people. Great performance non the less. Then a bit of a hangout with Stonegriff before we went to see Saint Vitus and Orange Goblin at Babel. Another great one but the atmosphere was odd, very raw and gruffy at the floor!
Then home for a few hours before we caught the plane to Bremen for the Overkill package. That too was a great one but perhaps both me and Peter was a little too tired to appreciate it fully. Still it was great and we had a very good time.

Took the opportunity to enjoy some local goodies as well, found a very cozy place which brew their own beer, very nice one. The food too was good even if Germany isn't famous for their cousine.

Now a new week and it's "only" Saxon and one more Saint Vitus and Orange Goblin show... Calm week that is!

Cheers
