Another week of packing was to end and I jumped in my well filled car and drove south. The plan was to move things with no value that are boring and hard to pack since the insurance didn't kick in until August 1:st. Said and done, Sunday afternoon I and about a million people hit the roads. I must admit it's not the greatest time of the year to drive now, all caravans and people going home from their vacations really blocks the road.
So it took extremely muc time to go from Gävle to Borås this day. I tried to stop at MAX in Örebro but the queue went outside the doors. Burger King in Laxå was a bit better but the service was awful. I think my clerk went on a coffee break after each customer. I waited about 40 minutes for a lousy burger and I just had three people before me when I got there... Really shitty place. Then I drove 200m and saw the cutest Pizza place and it was completely empty. I must remember that for next time.
Our new street in Borås
But it felt really good when I finally turned the last right turn into Utgårdsgatan and could unload my stuff in the flat. Everythig went since Peter was joining in the next day and we went bedshopping. Unfortunately the ones we wanted was out of stock so in worst case we have to sleep on the camping gear the first night in the flat. That will be ok, at least there's a TV there now. Yep, managed to shop for TV's (one for the livingroom and one for the bedroom), Blu-ray player, microvawe (which bot Uffe and Stefan thought were too expensive but it looked cool) and a little more.
This was Peter's first visit to Borås and he found a friend right away! *s*
The toilet needy rabbit & Peter
After the shopping spree we drove south for Malmö to get Peter's camping gear and his preparation for Headbangers Open Air. Marinated meat, sausages and a little more to go with the BBQ I bought. Damn we dominated the food in our camp when it came to food.
Headbangers Open Air was nice as usual. Nices Festival, or perhap I should say Garden Party in the world. Always great bands and really cool people to hange with! The beer was cold and weather hot, that makes it even better!
The oh so nice BBQ
We placed our camp right next to the rest of our gang, built a double party tent and geared up for dinner. The others looked a little surprised when we built the BBQ and started it up, they had just eaten a pack of cold hot dogs!
Three days of Metal, and one day for th pre-party passed by very quickly because it was three really good days! Shok Paris won it all... (Or as Rickard from Sweden out it, It's nice that Shockarna plays at HOA) Anvil Chorus, Raven, Jameson Raid, Demon, Amulance, Omen and a few more did great too.
We all were a little disappointed though that we didn't get the Metal Tickets this year. Yes, the first 500 get a printed Metal Plate as a ticket so the plan now was to get tickets for next year as soon as possible. No problems, all of us got the cool ones and I bought for Uffe and Daniel who will join teh party next year. Awesome!
Somewhere between Varberg and Borås
Then it was time to go back to work! Monday morning was spent driving from Malmö to Borås. It was ok, went a lot smoother than southbound but it's still boring to drive alone for a few hours. Ok, the CD's I picked up at HOA helped a little though, the new Brutal Hand album is great by the way...
Volvo P1800, station wagon
In Borås it was the ususal party at the main square at Tuesday. They park a lot of old cars there then and the freaks can enjoy them selves watching old nice cars. Me included there.... There's something special about old Volvo's I think! What other brand builds their sports car as a station wagon?
I must admit I feel a little nostalic around old Volvo's!
Then it was time to return to Gävle for more packing! I also placed a lot of adds on Blocket and especially my Kitchen Sofa got a lot of attention. That was sold about an hour after I placed the add at Blocket. Still nothing on the linnen closet, bookshelf and the rest of the furnitures though.
Before I left Borås we checked the status on the road. A truck had dropped it's trailer right over E20 in Hova... 4 hours later when I passed there the road was still blocked and we had to drive through Statoil to get by. I ha to wait about 25 minutes, the line going south was very long, 20km or so, even if it's borin to wait I felt a little lucky when I saw the other line.
Then everything went really smooth, a quick stop at MAX in Örebro, which this time was basically empty, I contunied towards Gävle. Even if the roads are empty it's still boring to drive this far. It is 500km between Gävle and Borås, the short way.
Somewhere south of Örebro
I did the best to amuse myself... Tried the cloudspotting even if I don't have an iPhone... went pretty well, clear blue sky behind them at least.
